Retaining walls with art as earth retention system at Zandvoort circuit
Landscaping company Snoek Puur Groen was seeking a robust earth retention system to absorb the height difference of 4.5 metres in the new Qurios holiday park in Zandvoort. Bosch Beton L retaining walls with heel offered the solution.
Snoek Puur Groen developed a stunning garden at Qurios Zandvoort Holiday Retreats holiday park in 2019. The gardens in the park were constructed using natural and sustainable materials and to compensate the 4.5-metre height difference, the landscaping company contacted Bosch Beton.
Height difference
The landscaping company opted for our L retaining wall with heel as these are smooth on both sides. We placed 5-metre-high L retaining walls with heel over a length of some 50 metres and placed these same walls with heights varying from 75 centimetres to 2 metres over a further 150 metres. We offered a total package including placement and on-site assistance.
Parking space
Parking space was created both on the foot side as well as on the lower side at the 5-metre-high retaining walls. As the retaining wall is only 10 centimetres thick, this resolved the level difference and optimised the use of space, so no valuable metres were lost.
Art
The holiday park is adjacent to the Zandvoort circuit and the beach. After placement, our client finished the walls with art and Corten steel, taking inspiration from Formula 1 and various water sports. A surfer, a racing car and the racetrack adorn the walls. As well as serving as an earth retention system, the walls also provide a great backdrop for art.
Our client is extremely pleased with the end result and the high standard of our work.
