Retaining walls as entrance to Collegepark Zwijsen apartments

The former Zwijsen College school building in Veghel underwent major renovations, with the project developer creating sustainable apartments in the property: Collegepark Zwijsen. Bosch Beton L retaining walls were used to absorb height difference at the entrance to the new homes, which created small front gardens for the new residents.


The apartments in Collegepark Zwijsen are above ground level. Bosch Beton retaining walls were used to bridge this height difference. Stairs were constructed between the retaining walls as entrance to the front doors, creating a small, private front garden for the ground floor residents. In addition to our standard retaining walls, we also delivered customised retaining walls. Our Engineering Team prepared the drawings, after which we produced the walls in our factory.

High finish

After we delivered the retaining walls to the site, Aannemingsbedrijf Van den Berk B.V. arranged the wall placement using our special retaining wall clamp. The contractor placed around 100 metres of L retaining walls with heel varying in height from 75 to 125 cm. Bosch Beton retaining walls were selected for this project because of their extremely high finish.


High school children used to sit in classes here but the former school is now a sustainable apartment complex. Each apartment is entitled to use electricity generated by solar panels and various demolition materials were reused in the complex. The sustainability aspect was also continued around the old school.

Elevated terrace

We implemented a project in Zwolle similar to this one in Veghel. The quayside homes in the Stadshagen neighbourhood have a terrace that forms the entrance to the home. We also placed our retaining walls here to bridge height difference, enabling the residents to enjoy sitting at their elevated terrace in the summer.
