Retaining walls placed as noise barrier at waste processing company

M.W. Containerdienst und Schrotthandel GmbH has been a sustainable, fair and reliable recycling industry partner since 1998. The Waschelewski couple runs the company in Fockbek, which is mainly active in waste collection and processing. The scrap trade started in 2003 and the container service in 2008.

Noise barrier

As conditions at the former location were limited, they decided to build a new location with a focus only on waste removal, collection and processing. The entrepreneurs wanted to ensure that local residents experienced the least possible noise nuisance, which is why they opted for retaining walls that, in view of the statutory emission requirements, also serve as a noise barrier.
Bosch Beton placed L retaining walls at the new location over a total length of 130 metres. 75 metres of these are 4 metres high and the rest, some 55 metres, is 6 metres high. In the western section of the site, 6-metre-high retaining walls were placed to reduce noise nuisance and protect the environment.

L retaining walls

The L retaining wall with heel was developed especially for medium load applications in civil engineering. The heel offers increased stability, enabling higher loads.
Once placed this creates a good, straight retaining wall with dimensional stability. A gabion or fencing can be fitted to the heel.

Quality

Our customer opted for our retaining walls because of the good cost-benefit ratio. In the end, quality was the deciding factor. We had good contact with the company and the placement ran smoothly. The walls were in place within three days. A satisfied customer that is delighted with the end result.
