Replacement of retaining wall lego blocks at Lekhaven in Wijk bij Duurstede
Bosch Beton supplied strong LAV retaining walls to provide more stable storage at Lekhaven Bouwstoffen in Wijk bij Duurstede. The walls replaced the existing lego blocks. As well as stable storage, our customer now also has more storage space. The retaining walls were finished at the top with an iron profile to protect the wall tops.
Replacement of lego blocks
Lekhaven Bouwstoffen supplies a range of building materials for civil engineering in Wijk bij Duurstede and used lego blocks to store pulverised rubble waste. However, due to this waste’s heavy load, the blocks did not prove stable enough and there was a danger of the blocks being pushed towards the adjacent depot. Improving the look for neighbours also played an important role in seeking another solution.
Strong retaining walls
Bosch Beton offered a customised solution using LA400V retaining walls. These retaining walls are unique as they can absorb heavy pressure and impact forces. The new walls replaced the lego blocks. In addition to creating more stable storage, the company also has more storage space as the retaining walls are narrower than the lego blocks. The walls are also a good match for a lower retaining wall already on the site.
We supplied a total of 22 walls, two with a corner and several mitred walls. We used a suction cap to place the walls in the correct position and our Service Team provided on-site assistance. Our customer later finished the walls with an iron profile to protect the tops.
