Bosch Beton awarded silver CSC certificate
In 2017 Bosch Beton became the world’s first retaining wall manufacturer to receive the bronze certificate from the international Concrete Sustainability Council (bronze CSC certificate), confirmation that the company manufactures prefab concrete in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible way. This global quality mark is, and will continue to be, the standard when it comes to responsible and sustainable manufacturing and operations. It comprises four different levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. In June 2018 Bosch Beton took the step to the next level and was awarded the silver CSC certificate. That means it is operating even more sustainably than before.
On Friday, 6 July 2018 Erik Hoven of SGS-Intron presented the silver certificate to the company, in the presence of Bosch Beton’s employees. Bosch Beton and SGS-Intron worked together closely as the company worked towards the silver certificate. “It is an excellent result and one we are extremely proud of!”, explains Brand Jan van den Bosch.
The difference between silver and bronze is that the silver level sets even stricter requirements in relation to a number of the criteria. For example, there is an even greater focus on biodiversity on and around a company’s site and on reducing CO2 emissions linked to logistics. An excellent example of the progress made is the reduction in CO2 emissions associated with loading trucks and transport activities: in 2017 these had been cut by more than 10% per cubic metre of concrete compared with 2016. Bosch Beton is therefore continuing to innovate in the area of sustainability and will now be going for gold!
