Bosch Beton is preferred supplier to rapid charging company, Fastned
We are one of European rapid charging company Fastned’s preferred suppliers and supply them with concrete foundations for rapid charging stations. We supplied the first concrete sections in the second quarter of 2022. In Bosch Beton, Fastned has found a sustainable supplier in which renewable energy and sustainability come first. Especially for this pan-European project, we developed a mould that ensures substructure dimensional stability and enables Fastned to complete on-site construction quickly.
Sustainability
Renewable energy and sustainability are key to this project. The charging station company aims to provide electric vehicles with renewable energy. Bosch Beton is a sustainable supplier of prefabricated concrete structures. Like our retaining walls, we produce the foundations for charging stations at our modern, state-of-the-art factory in Barneveld, where everything revolves around sustainability. We hold a CSC (Concrete Sustainability Council) Gold certificate, which demonstrates that we produce in a sustainable and responsible way. That makes the collaboration between Fastned and Bosch Beton a special one.
Preferred supplier
Fastned signed a long-term contract with Bosch Beton for the production of concrete foundation elements. This means we are one of the rapid charging company’s preferred suppliers. We produce in advance on a large scale so there is always stock available, which enables us to provide charging station sub and superstructures for Fastned ‘just in time’. Our foundation elements form the strong and sustainable basis for the charging points.
In the Netherlands, we have supplied sections for towns including Maarheeze, Hoogland, Eemnes and Beilen. Weert, Venlo, Zwolle, Holten and Arnhem are in the pipeline. We may also be asked to supply to towns and countries in Europe.
In collaboration with our constructors and Fastned, a special mould for this project was designed that is a perfect match for the vertical Fastned frame. This safeguards both dimensional stability as well as the connection with the superstructure. This special mould remains Fastned’s property, which gives Fastned the assurance that it can continue to use this mould should the collaboration come to an end at some point.
Energy transition
Helping to build for the future means thinking now. If we want to accelerate the energy transition, we need to do this together. We need to build faster, reduce construction time and contribute to the renewable energy transition, which is why Bosch Beton continues to innovate and develop, taking the lead in our industry.
About Fastned
Fastned is a European rapid charging company founded in 2012. The company aims to make renewable energy available for drivers of electric vehicles and help others make the switch to driving electric. A fast-growing network of charging points is currently available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. In just 15 minutes, all types of electric vehicles can be recharged for a range of up to 300 km. The Fastned stations are located in areas with a lot of through traffic. They’re often directly along the highway as well as in busy urban areas.
