Terrain fencing for waste storage facility at Erasmus University
Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) had a waste storage facility constructed to store the university’s waste. Terrain fencing was realised around the storage, using Bosch Beton retaining walls. These retaining walls also form the basis for fencing, ensuring that the waste remains within the storage facility.
Terrain fencing
With almost 37,000 students (2021) at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the amount of waste is huge. The international university constructed a waste storage facility to collect all this waste and ensure that this remains in one place. Terrain fencing was constructed around the storage, using Bosch Beton retaining walls.
In total we placed over 80 metres of 1-metre-high L retaining walls. Most of the walls were customised to enable the canopy’s pillars to be mounted on the foundations.
Four customised corner sections were also placed. Another company then installed fencing on top of the walls.
Sleek and smooth visible sides
Antea Group, our client, placed the retaining walls itself. A special retaining wall clamp was needed for the placement as our retaining walls do not have a hoist fitting as standard. The advantage of this is that all visible sides always have a sleek and smooth finish.
